Davis: "Building A Winning Team Will Attract Fans"

2 June 2016

Steve says that he wants to build a stylish and winning team to attract fans back to Gresty Road.

Steve Davis says that the club have to do everything they possibly can to attract fans back to the Alexandra Stadium ahead of a desired promotion push from League Two. The Alex boss appreciates that a disappointing season has left some fans reconsidering returning to Gresty Road - but he wants to build a successful side to get those ‘lost fans’ back on side.

.thSteve says that the best way to attract supporters back to the Stadium on matchday is to win games and that will be the primary target when we kick off again on August 6

June. thThe club have been delighted with season ticket sales so far this summer and they hope more will follow suit before the next cheaper deadline arrives on Friday 30

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Season ticket sales have been encouraging and those fans deserve great credit for sticking with us. We know that with relegation we will lose a number of supporters and I would imagine some have lost their love for the club a bit, but it is up to us to get them back.

“The club can do everything they can in terms of cheaper tickets, or attracting families and young fans to the club, but we need to retain those older ones as well.

“We need them to come through the doors and support the club and I know that the best way we can do that is by winning games and building a successful team.

Steve added: “We know that having a winning team and being at the right end of the table attracts the supporters back. When you see clubs involved in play-off semi-finals and finals then you can see the supporters come back for those great games and moments and that is what we are after again.”
