Steve Davis says Bakayogo will add great experience after signing again.
Steve Davis is delighted that Zoumana Bakayogo has decided that his future remains at Crewe Alexandra. Bakayogo penned a one-year contract yesterday with the option of a further year. The 29-Year-old rejected the approaches of three other clubs to sign for the Railwaymen and Davis says he is delighted to have landed his first choice left-back.
Steve told crewealex.net: “I am delighted that we have managed to sign Zooms. We had to be patient and it was not a straight forward one to get over the line because he went back to France.
“We stayed in contact, mostly through his agent and we are pleased to have him signed because he was always our first choice. We had to patient to get him but we are pleased it is now done.
The boss joked: “Zooms came to his senses in the end.”
Steve is delighted to have landed a second experienced player after previously signing Ryan Lowe on a free transfer from Bury.
Steve told us: “Zoumana is a great professional and a gentleman. He is an honest guy around the place and he will help the youngsters with his advice.
“He brings great experience and pace and he is athletic enough to get up and down the pitch. He has never played in League Two, so it will be a new challenge for him but I am sure he will make a significant contribution again like he did last season.”
