Boss pleased with Dagnall and Lowe combination play.
New summer signings Chris Dagnall and Ryan Lowe played the first 45 minutes of pre-season against Buxton FC on Friday evening and boss Steve Davis says there were early promising signs developing in their partnership.
Dagnall hit an equaliser after Crewe had conceded two early goals to the Evo-Stick Premier League side. Lowe was disappointed not to mark his return with a goal but he showed some deft touches in and around the box and forced the Buxton FC goalkeeper into one or two meaningful saves.
Steve said: “We should be a goal threat with those two up there. They showed glimpses of their potential as a partnership. They could have had two goals apiece with the chances we created but there is bound to be some rustiness there as they are not match sharp yet.
“They did show some great touches and movement in and around the back four and that was pleasing. They were looking for each other and were eager to link up. I am sure they will get goals and I am fairly happy with that side of things.
He added: “We have concerns elsewhere that need addressing but I am sure we will improve with the more tests we get.”
