Kiwomya Has Settled In Quickly

25 July 2016

Boss says Chelsea's player pace will provide different dimension.

Steve Davis is pleased to have added the Chelsea youngster Alex Kiwomya to his attacking options and the Crewe Alexandra boss has four wide men battling it out for two positions. Kiwomya, 20, has joined on loan until early January and he will battle it for a place with our own Academy graduates Charlie Kirk, George Cooper and Callum Ainley.

Kiwomya made his unofficial debut for the club against Bolton Wanderers when introduced as a second half substitute and the former England Youth player showed glimpses of his pace and neat footwork during the 1-1 draw.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Alex is very very quick and he will give us something different. That is why we wanted to bring him to the club. We have seen him for Chelsea’s Under-21s and I’ve seen him a few times when he was on loan at Fleetwood.

“This is another opportunity for him and I am sure he will be an asset for us. He has a lot of pace and can get in behind.

“He has settled in really well and the lads have made him feel welcome. He seems to be enjoying it and he will be looking forward to playing and doing well for us.

“He has been out on loan before and played higher, so I am sure that dropping down to League Two will allow him to show what he can do. He knows what is required and I’m sure he will look to do well.”
