Steve says his players enjoy getting their fitness from playing.

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he will get the footballs back out as his players prepare for the pre-season opener at Buxton on Friday night.

The Alex players returned to training last week for testing with Davis creating a competitive edge to the proceedings. They will be placed in groups depending on their fitness levels and their objective will be move up the ‘divisions’ as the work intensifies.

Steve told crewealex.net: “The footballs will be coming out and we will combine our fitness work with getting used to the touch of the ball again. I think it is important that you get the players on the ball as soon as you can. The players enjoy improving their fitness whilst playing.

“We have done some running and we will continue to do so. We will be doing different types of runs to make sure that the players are ready for when the season starts.

“We have our first pre-season game this week and we will be using it to as a start to them getting their match fitness right.”
