Chris Dagnall talks exclusively to Crewe Alex PlayerHD.
Chris Dagnall has exclusively told Crewe Alex PlayerHD that he has returned to the English game to help the Railwaymen bounce back from relegation.
Dagnall, 30, has signed a two-year deal at the Alexandra Stadium and the experienced forward says he is looking forward to playing a key role in our season. Crewe will be aiming to be involved in the promotion race after being relegated from League One last season.
After leaving Leyton Orient for the Indian Super League, the former Tranmere and Rochdale man was previously in Scotland with Hibernian.
Chris told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “I’m over the moon that it has been nice and sorted. I have a couple of year’s contract and I cannot wait to get started.
“I did have a few offers over the summer and I had to wait for the right club to come along. When Crewe came along, my mind was made up and I’m pleased to be here.
“I spoke to the manager and I told me that he wanted to bring in some more experience. He just felt that we lacked two or three players with a bit of experience and know how last season. I’m sure Ryan and I will help the younger lads whenever we can.
“I enjoyed my time in India. It was a new experience for me and then I had a short spell in Scotland, so it is nice to be back in England and playing in arguably the best country to play football in.
Chris added: “My aim is to play plenty of games and score goals to help the team achieve its aim. We want to bounce back and win promotion at the first time of asking. That’s the target.”
