Boss To Run The Rule Over Osborne

28 July 2016

Could Jamie Osborne win himself a professional contract?

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he will give midfielder Jamie Osborne some time to prove that he can make the grade in the professional game. The on-trial Solihull Moors midfielder impressed in last night’s friendly at Hednesford and Davis says he will make a decision on his future soon.

Osborne had interested Davis and his coaching staff before - but he suffered a dislocation of his shoulder, which ruled him out of contention.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We have looked at Jamie in the past but he got injured. He underwent a shoulder operation but is now fully fit.

“We will continue to look at him. He could fit the type we need in midfield but we need one now and not say in 12 months’ time.

“Saying that he may settle in quickly and develop quickly. He may show that he is up to a level but we think he is a decent player and it’s up to him to show what he can offer.”
