Turton Eyes Morale Boosting Result This Weekend

21 January 2016

Right-back says a good performance and result will act as the perfect tonic to get over Swindon shock.

Vice-Captain Ollie Turton says Crewe Alexandra need back-to-back wins as soon as possible after collecting just one point over the Christmas and New Year period. The Railwaymen were left hugely disappointed with their points return over the busy festive period and Turton knows that it is another massive home game against Wigan Athletic this weekend.

Ahead of the visit of the Latics, Ollie told the club’s official web-site: “It is another massive game for us this weekend, we know that. We are at home and hopefully we can get a result and get ourselves going again.

“Wigan are right up there and are one of the top sides in the division after coming down last season but we know that if we can all play to our potential then we can get a result.

“We have played everyone now apart from Rochdale and other that a two or three of the games, we felt that we were in most of the games.

He added: “The lads know that we need two wins as soon as possible because the first job is to catch those above us. We have got to remain positive and hopefully a good performance and result on Saturday will give us a boost. “
