Ryan Colclough Signs For Wigan Athletic

28 January 2016

Coco joins Latics for undisclosed fee

Crewe Alexandra Football Club have agreed a deal with Wigan Athletic for the transfer of winger Ryan Colclough for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old has penned a three-and-a-half year deal at The DW Stadium and will be available for their home clash with Port Vale on Saturday.

Coco progressed through the Crewe Academy and made his senior debut in September 2012 as an 18-year-old, going on to make 21 appearances during that 2012/13 breakthrough season.

He started 2013/14 in fine form, but picked up a hernia injury just ten games in that curtailed his progress before returning to the set-up towards the end of 2014/15.

Colclough penned a new two-year Alex deal in August 2015, and as part of the agreement with him and his representatives, Crewe Alexandra agreed to consider any significant offers if the player expressed a desire to leave the club.

Having agreed to our valuation of the player, Colclough discussed personal terms with the Latics and passed a medical before signing this today.

Colclough developed into a real attacking threat in his first full season, scoring eight goals in 30 appearances, which most recently included a Goal-of-the-season contender at Swindon Town.

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to wish Ryan well for the future with his career at Wigan Athletic.
