Players Will Arrive In Bury In Positive Mood

26 January 2016

Boss says performance against Wigan has only enchanced confidence ahead of Gigg Lane trip.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says his team will arrive at Gigg Lane this evening in a positive mind-set after giving in-form Wigan Athletic a proper game on Saturday. Crewe picked up a point against one of the promotion favourites thanks to Brad Inman's wonderful counter-attacking goal at Gresty Road and the boss says we will be taking real positively into our clash against Bury.

The Alex boss knows that we need to start picking up three points from games and he will instruct his players to once again go on the front foot. Crewe have certainly done that at both Doncaster and Swindon and that plan so nearly paid off in both away games. We took the lead in the final minute at the Keepmoat Stadium only to end up with nothing after Doncaster scored twice in an extended period of injury time.

It was a similar story at Swindon with the Alex leading 3-1 going into the half-time interval only to see a second half collapse result in a 4-3 defeat thanks to Nicky Ajose’s injury time winner.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We will be looking for maximum points again. That is how we have approached all our games this season and we will going to Bury looking to get on that front foot as much as possible.

“We have done it at Doncaster and Swindon and we could have won both games but ended up losing them. The margin between success and failure was very thin and we have got to go into the Bury game with that same positive attitude to put the opposition under pressure and attack.

another good challenge for us. “There is no point being negative and sitting back, trying to invite pressure onto us. We don’t cope too well with that, so we will go with that positive mind-set and the Bury game will

He added: “If we play as well as we can and play with the same determination we did against Wigan then there is no reason why we can’t take the game to Bury.”
