Inman Rest Has Served Him Well

11 January 2016

Boss reveals wide man is back in contention to start at Swindon.

Steve Davis believes that his forward Brad Inman will have greatly benefitted from his break. The Alec boss took the decision to give the 24-year-old a mini-break after he was on the receiving end of some hefty challenges against Eastleigh in the FA Cup and Blackpool and Peterborough in League One.

Inman was then left out of the starting XI before he returned as a substitute away at Doncaster Rovers, where he looked to have created a late winner for Callum Saunders. He has been introduced as a sub in the club’s last three matches but he is now pushing for a recall ahead of this weekend’s clash at Swindon.

Steve said: “Brad was doing fine and was probably our most consistent forward early on in the season.

“He got a succession of knocks and was carrying things into games. He needed a break to recover and I’ve brought him back into it as a substitute.

“Brad always does a bit better when he starts games rather than when he comes on as a substitute.

He added: “He needed a bit of time to come back into it and the rest will have done him good.”
