Harry Davis hoping for an injury-free run in 2016 as he closes in on a return to training.
Club Captain Harry Davis is aiming for a much better 2016 after having his injury problems during 2015. The 24-year-old defender made 27 appearances during 2015 but that only includes four appearances this season due to a knee injury.
After stepping his rehab, The Burnley-born Davis is now targeting a return to full training at the end of the month.
Harry told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “Last year wasn’t a great one for me I’ll be honest. It’s always a tough time missing football matches, but I’ll put that year behind me again and hopefully I’ll have a good 2016, starting with getting back fit and playing.
“I’ve not had too many small injuries, just the two serious ones. It’s part and parcel of the game and a lot of people go through these serious injuries so all you’ve got to do is just stay strong and get back as soon as possible – we’re looking at the end of the month.
“Rehabilitation is tough with ups and downs. You have good days and bad days, but I feel like I’m strong mentally to get through that and get back playing.
He added: “It’s the end of the road sort of thing now to get back running and get some fitness back and carry on with a bit of strengthening work and hopefully, all being well, I’ll be able to come back into some training at the end of the month.”
