Crewe Sign Bakayogo On Non-Contract

14 January 2016

Former Leicester City defender Zouma signs on short-term deal

Crewe Alexandra is delighted to announce the signing of Zoumana Bakayogo on a non-contract until the end of the season. The 29-year-old left-back has battled back from serious injury to earn himself a deal with the Railwaymen and he will wear the number 41 shirt.

The Paris-born defender has been training with Crewe Alexandra since the summer and he has been involved with the club’s Development Squad with the aim of convincing Steve Davis and his staff of his fitness.

The former Millwall, Tranmere Rovers and Leicester City defender has a wealth of experience from an 11-year playing career. He is also a former U-23 International with the Ivory Coast.

Nicknamed Zooms, he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament after just 37 minutes into his Yeovil loan debut against Birmingham City back in January 2014 and he has had to battle back from the injury over the past couple of seasons, including at Crewe following his release during the summer.

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to officially welcome Zoumana to the club on a permanent basis.
