Colclough Form Will Be Key To Revival

1 January 2016

Steve Davis is hoping that talented youngster continues to be a potential match winner.

Steve Davis is hoping that Ryan Colclough’s rich vein of form continues. The young forward who recently turned 21 has been the club’s star performer this season, scoring seven goals and providing some key assists in others goals as Crewe aim to get out of relegation trouble.

Colclough, who has appeared in every game this season, has become our potential match winner and Davis has been delighted with his form in recent weeks.

Ahead of this weekend’s home clash with Coventry, Steve told us: “Ryan has become our most dangerous player and long may that continue. He has been in really good form for us and is showing his potential.

“Against Shrewsbury they knew he was a threat and were doubling up on him. They sometimes had three over on his side and he still managed to show terrific moments of skill to get himself out of it.

“He did the same thing against Doncaster when help create our second goal for Callum (Saunders). He has that close control in tight spaces and he is our best chance of winning points for us, either with a goal or an assist.

He added: “He has to continue to be thorn in the side of the opposition and we have been delighted with him, especially of late.”
