Billy Can Make A Big Impact In Second Half

12 January 2016

Boss hoping midfielder can remain injury free in the second half of the season to make an impact.

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis says the club are still to see the best of midfielder Billy Bingham after he scored direct from a free-kick in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Coventry City in the Development League.

Bingham’s first season with the club has been disrupted by a couple of hamstring injuries, which forced him to miss couple of months of the campaign but he is fully fit now and looking for a successful second half of the season.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Billy scored a good free-kick for the Under-21s and it is the first time we have seen that him here. He is capable of doing that because I’ve seen him score free-kicks and goals from clips.

“I’ve seen an interview with Billy and he was talking about us not seeing the best of him yet and I think he is right. I believe there is more to come from him as well.

“He hasn’t reached that level yet but he has had to adjust a higher league and the injuries disrupted that as well.

“He knows he has to score more goals and be a threat and if he can do that then he would be a great help to us.

“Billy will get better and heThe boss added:is good enough to make a big impact for us in the second half of the season.”
