Alex boss says it is interesting to see who will come through adversity.
Steve Davis says it is always interesting to see which players come through adversity. The Alex boss says that the second half of the season will be crucial for the future of some of his players and he wants to assess how they stand up to the pressure that will build week on week.
Crewe slipped back to the bottom of the League One table following Saturday’s 5-0 home defeat to Coventry City and how have the second half of the season to turn the season around again.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We are now at the half way stage and we know we have a big fight on our hands to stay in the league. We have had that over the last two seasons and fought very hard to stay in the division because this is where we want to be.
“Of course, we know it is difficult but we will do all we can to try and remain in the league. We have a fight on our hands and I had a conversation with the players’ yesterday about standing up and being prepared to scrap.
“It is a challenge that we have embraced over the last couple of seasons. It is always interesting to see which of your players comes through it.
“You learn a lot about people in adversity and who is determined to put things right. We have a strong group and they always stick together and it will be good to see who rises to the challenge and who doesn’t.”
