Steve: "Not Totally Ruling Out Loan Move"

9 February 2016

Boss says he would only bring one in over injury or loss of form concerns.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he has not totally ruled out bringing in a new face on loan - but he is pleased that his close knit squad have managed to turn things around of late.

Crewe go into Saturday’s home game against Walsall this weekend on an four-game unbeaten run. A superb 2-0 win over Rochdale on Saturday was our first win since late November and Davis is looking for that unbeaten run to continue against the promotion chasing Saddlers.

The loan window for Football League clubs has re-opened today and runs until March 24th.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I wouldn’t totally rule out bringing one in on loan but much would depend on injuries on form.

“We have a couple of players coming back and they will be like new signings because we have been without them for a while. That will be real plus for us. We have a close knit group and they are working hard for each other and that is all you can ask as a manager.

He added: “We are not looking too much at loans at the moment but that could change if we were to lose one or two key players to injury. That would impact on if we were to bring one or two in again.”
