Seager Excited By Loan Opportunity

4 February 2016

On loan Southampton striker eager to do well during loan spell.

Ryan Seager says he is looking forward to hopefully making his home debut against Rochdale this weekend. The on-loan Southampton striker, 19, made an impressive cameo against Millwall last weekend when coming on as a late sub for Zoumana Bakayogo and he is now looking for another opportunity to present itself against the Dale on Saturday.

Seager, who is a prolific goalscorer for Southampton’s Under-21 Development side, is determined to make an impact during his loan spell with us and has not ruled out extending it.

The Yeovil-born forward told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “When I got told that Crewe were interested in me it was an easy decision for me once I’d spoken to the manager. I’m really excited for the next few weeks.

“When I spoke to the manager he was telling me a bit about Crewe, how the players are and stuff so it was an easy decision. I want to play football and I think I’m going to get the best opportunity here to do so.

“It’s really exciting, the prospect of playing first team football. Hopefully I can score a few goals and help the team out.

“Coming on against Millwall was really good, I got butterflies again. Playing in front of a crowd in a situation where every kick means something was a really good experience.

“I think it’s seven games I’m here for, so I want to get at least five or six goals, hopefully more. I’ll just have to wait and see how many chances I get.

Ryan added: “I think the plan is to extend it. If all goes well and the manager likes me then that’s the plan.”
