George Ray set to return for the Under-21s after ankle injury.

Defender George Ray is expected to play half of today’s Development game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Ray is set to return from the ankle injury he sustained away at Colchester United back in November.

With Semi Ajayi’s 93- emergency loan deal from Cardiff now expired, the return to action for Ray could not have been better timed with Crewe hosing Barnsley at the weekend.

 Harry Davis is also close to a return but will not feature this afternoon.
