Jones On Barnsley Encounter

25 February 2016

JJ expects a tough game against the in-form Tykes but he says Alex more than capable of bouncing back.

Alex midfielder James Jones is hoping that we can overcome our 3-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Chesterfield as soon as possible. Danny Wilson’s side ended Crewe’s six game unbeaten run last weekend, but the scoreline was rather harsh on the Railwaymen after we had more than double the amount of shots than the home side. Crewe arguably didn’t receive what we had deserved from our performance at the Proact Stadium - but Jones says that making our own mistakes proved costly.

placed Coventry on the Tuesday after our meeting at the Alexandra Stadium.thNow the Scotland Youth International is targeting a positive result against at in-form Barnsley side, who had shown what can be achieved by going on a consistent run of winning games. The Tykes are now just six points off the play-off places and face 6

Jones told crewealex.net: “It was a massive disappointment last week because we felt we played well enough to have got something from the game. We missed out on a valuable three points, especially as we went into the game full of confidence following the decent run we had been on.

“The most important thing now is to try and go on another run and start picking up some wins. We were all down after the game because we felt we deserved something and on another day if we had taken our chances and not make some mistakes then we could well have won the game quite comfortably.

“We can take some positives from aspects of the performance and the chances we created but we have got to move on and our focus is on Barnsley.

“Barnsley have shown what you can achieve by going on a good run and picking up successive wins. They have turned their season around and have been able to build some real momentum by picking up good results.

James added: “It will be a tough game, they all are at this level, but we know that if we can play well and have a bit of that good fortune then we can beat anyone on our day.”
