Inman Expected To Face Tykes

26 February 2016

Brad Inman has shaken off a heavy cold to be in contention for the visit of Barnsley.

Steve Davis is confident of having the in-form Brad Inman available for the visit of Barnsley this weekend. The club’s leading scorer with 9 goals this season has been struggling with a heavy cold this weekend and the Crewe boss has been cautious with him when it comes to this week’s training sessions.

The former Newcastle man trained with the Academy youngsters yesterday to ease him back into training and he is now expected to be given the green light to face the Tykes at Gresty Road.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Brad has been struggling with a heavy cold this week and when you are feeling like that then one of the worst things to do is to train.

“He has rested up and he trained with the kids to get him back into it. We will see how he performs today (Friday) and then decide. I’m sure he will be fine.

He added: “It wouldn’t have done him any harm to have that little break because he has played in the majority of games. He works hard in the games and he is an explosive type of player. He gets some knocks and uses a lot of energy, so I’m sure he would have benefitted from training sparingly this week.”
