Hitch: "I'm Fit And Ready"

26 February 2016

On loan striker looks forward to 'second debut' for the club after signing on loan this week.

Crewe Alexandra’s latest on-loan signing Tom Hitchcock says he is fit and ready to play his part in our survival bid. Hitchcock has returned to the club from his parent club MK Dons until the end of the season and he is determined to make a similar impact to last time he was here when his ratio was a goal every other game.

The 23-year-old has been handed the number 36 shirt and is expected to make his 'second debut' for the club at some point against Barnsley this weekend.

Hitchcock, who previously scored three goals in six games for the Alex told the club’s official web-site: “I am fit and ready to play my part. I have come here to play and score some goals. I want to help Crewe escape the drop and make sure we have something to celebrate at the end of the season.

“I am happy to be back and they are all massive game now. I’ve kept an eye on tings inn League One and Barnsley have had a good couple of months. They have shown what can be achieved if you go on a sustained run and get those wins.

“They are a good side and they also have a trip to Wembley to look forward to in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy as well. I am looking forward it. If we can get on the front foot and get after them then there is no reason why we cannot get a result.

Tom added: “We need to start winning some games and that is what we will aim to do on Saturday.”
