Garratt Returning To Best Form

15 February 2016

Alex stopper showed why he is so highly regarded after stunning saves to deny Walsall's Bradshaw.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says that Ben Garratt is returning to his best form after he made some world class saves to deny Walsall’s prolific marksman Tom Bradshaw in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Gresty Road.

Garratt made a stunning save to push his first half effort on to the underside of the crossbar and he arguably bettered that by tipping Bradshaw’s 20 yard shot behind when his effort looked destined for the bottom corner.

Garratt was many people’s choice for the man-of-the-match award as his saves kept us very much in the game at crucial times.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Ben is getting back to his best. He is beginning to show that for he had before his injured (a broken leg). He made some great saves on Saturday to keep us in the game and everyone was delighted for him because he works hard to improve his game.

“He often does double sessions with Fred (Barber) and he works on all aspects of his game.

“It doesn’t matter who are, it always takes you time to get over an injury. There is the physical side and then the mental scars that come with being out injured. It can take some time to get over and to get that real confidence back. You will have those doubts.

“I have been pleased with him and we just need him to continue to show that level of performance.”
