Steve Davis praises fans for brilliant vocal support.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says the travelling Alex fans can make all the difference again away at Chesterfield. The Alex boss has been full of praise for the loyal supporters who have continued to get behind this side over the course of a tough season.

Steve has once again stressed the importance of having the vocal support of the fans, especially away from home. He has always believed that a supportive fan base really affects the performances of his players, especially the young ones in the team.

Ahead of this weekend’s important clash at Chesterfield, Steve said: “The fans have been brilliant for us. Vocally they have been superb, especially away from home when they are outnumbered.

“We took 300 to Rochdale on a horrible Tuesday night. The weather was awful but they still came out and supported their team. They were right behind us from start to finish and it makes one hell of a difference.

“Fans can underestimate how much it affects the players, especially the younger ones. It gives them great confidence to hear the fans chanting their name or supporting them. We need them to get behind us against Chesterfield this weekend.”
