Steve Davis says he wants his players to remain positive after Barnsley set-back.
Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis wants his team to play ‘with no fear’ between now and the end of the season if we are going to escape the relegation drop zone.
Crewe slipped to their second consecutive defeat to Barnsley at the weekend but we have an instant opportunity to claw back some points with an away trip to Southend in mid-week.
Steve told crewealex.net: “We need points and we mention the importance of winning games every day. There is an added pressure that comes with that but we have to try and win every game.
“There is no point sitting back like we did in the second half against Barnsley. We were a bit nervous and ponderous in what we were trying to do. We have to dismiss that and play with no fear.
“We have got to play to the best our ability because that always gives you a better chance of winning games. Sometimes it doesn’t always turn out like that in football. We have to try and be positive and try and perform to a good level over the course of 90 minutes.
He added: “All you can ask as a manager is that your players give their all and try and play to their potential.”
