Davis: "Taking Risks Will Continue"

1 February 2016

Boss says next step is turning those draws into a morale boosting three points.

Steve Davis says his Crewe Alexandra side have become harder to beat in recent games but he knows that we have to try and convert some of the draws we have had into wins.

Crewe have drawn their last three games against tough opponents Wigan, Bury and Millwall and those encouraging performances has restored some lost confidence inside the dressing room as we head into the final few months of the season.

Crewe host Rochdale this weekend aiming to achieve that first win since November.

Following the 1-1 draw with the Lions, Steve told us: “We have had three solid performances and got three draws from some hard games. We have shown our battling qualities and we have certainly become harder to beat.

“We have to keep that going and produce those types of solid performances. We could have nicked the games with the chances we have had and it is just a question of tuning those draws into a win. That is the next step for us and if we can do that then that will only breed more confidence.

“We have always approached the games in the same way. We want to win and that approach will continue because we need the points and that means taking some risks at times.”
