Harry Davis and George Ray will be given game time for Development squad
Under-21 boss Alex Morris will name a young side at Sheffield United this afternoon due to our first team requirements at Southend tomorrow, but he will be boosted by having the experienced duo of Harry David and George Ray available for selection. Both defenders are back from injury and have travelled to face the Blades with the majority of Academy lads due to the demands of the first team.
Steve Davis explained to Crewealex.net: “Harry and George will play today. We will be using the majority of the Under-18s because of the first-team commitments and the fact that we have another Under-21 game on Thursday.
“Harry and George need games and they will be involved again on Thursday and Billy (Bingham) will play on Thursday as well so we could have three more senior players back soon.
“It is an important time and will be good to have them back. We have a young bench at the moment. We have some talented young players but they are inexperience and to ask them to come on and make a major difference is a big ask.
“It is good that they are having good experiences but it can be a step too far for them.”
