Cooper Back From Injury

26 February 2016

Forward George Cooper fit to return after overcoming thigh injury.

George Cooper is back in contention for this weekend’s visit of Barnsley after overcoming the thigh injury that has seen him miss the last two games. The young forward played 45 minutes for the Under-21s on Monday in the 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday and has trained with no problem since.

Cooper could come back into the starting line-up if Steve Davis elects reshuffle his back four and not play a fit again George Ray at centre-half.

Steve told crewealex.net: “George (Cooper) is fine. He has recovered well and came through 45 minutes on Monday with no problems. He trained really well on Wednesday before our day off yesterday.

“He hasn’t missed that much football and he is fit enough to start if needs be. We do have some extra options when it comes to our forward players. Tom (Hitchcock) has come in and we still have Callum (Saunders) and the younger ones Kirk and Ainley.”
