Boss: "It Seems Bury Happy To Keep Lowe"

2 February 2016

Steve Davis says he had to explore other options after move for experienced striker went cold.

Steve Davis admits he made a move to sign the highly-rated Ryan Seager on loan from Southampton after his continued approaches to Bury over the availability over Ryan Lowe drew a blank.

The Crewe Alexandra boss made re-signing the vastly experienced Lowe his number one priority but due to their extended involvement in the FA Cup, David Flitcroft elected to keep the striker.

Steve told crewealex.net: “It went a bit quiet on Ryan (Lowe) so I had to consider other options and I was pleased to get Ryan Seager in on loan.

“It went cold over Lowey and that was more from Bury’s side than ours because we were very keen on getting him back here.

“He is a Bury player and they it looks as though they are keen to keep him until the end of the season.

“We moved quickly to look at other options and had to go with a younger player, who is keen to get competitive football as part of his development.”
