Bingham Set To Return To Training

23 February 2016

Billy Bingham hoping to be given green light to return to training.

Crewe Alexandra midfielder Billy Bingham is set to resume training this weekend after having his first season with the club interrupted with a hamstring injury. The summer signing from Dagenham has been limited to 13 appearances in all competitions this season and the ball playing midfielder has not featured since the 4-3 defeat at Swindon back in January.

It has been a frustrating time for the 25-year-old but he is hoping to receive the green light from our head physio, Rob Sharp, this week to return to training later this week. He will first have to pass the club’s fitness test to be able to return to full training with the first team squad.

Steve Davis confirmed to the club’s official web-site: “Billy is making good progress and I have been informed by Rob (Sharp) that he is set to return to training later this week.

“It has been a frustrating time for Billy and he recently had an injection to help with the nerves around the back to free it up a bit. There has been a problem there stemming from the hamstring but he seems to have benefitted from that and it will be good to have him back.

“We hope he will be fit enough to play a part for the Under-21s in the next couple of weeks or so.”
