Steve Davis wants to add a target man to his striking options in January.

Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager says he would like to bring in a target man if possible during the January transfer window.

The Crewe boss is after another option in forward positions and he has targeted a bigger striker that could provide us with more of a physical and aerial presence during the second half of the season.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “A bigger striker would give us a different option. It would allow us to go a bit more direct and give us something different.

He added: “I am hoping we can do something in January and bring one of that type into the club to give us something else. I may have to wheel and deal a bit to bring him in but I think it would make a difference to us when we need more of a presence up there.”
