Alex boss targets back-to-back wins to start 2017 on the front foot.

Steve Davis says he wants his Crewe Alexandra team to start 2017 in style by remaining unbeaten over the Christmas and the New Year period. The Railwaymen ended a poor run of three straight defeats with an encouraging draw with high-flying Carlisle United on Boxing Day and the Alex boss is targeting back-to-back wins against Accrington Stanley and Morecambe to boost our hopes of gate-crashing the play-off places once again.

Ahead our game against Accrington later today, Steve told crewealex.net: “Back-to-back wins can make a difference to any Club at the moment because it’s very tight.

“It’s our intention to go through the three games with Accrington, Morecambe and then away at Mansfield to get some points and go through unbeaten.

“That’s what we’ve got to try and do, reach the levels we did against Carlisle against an Accrington side that have been through a difficult spell like we have, and we’ve got to come out of it & push on to show the early form that we did in the first part of the season.”
