Ryan Lowe suffered a slight hamstring strain at Cambridge.
Crewe Alexandra are set to lose captain Ryan Lowe for our Boxing Day encounter against Carlisle after a scan revealed a slight hamstring strain. Lowe, 38, sustained the injury when creating James Jones’ goal at Cambridge United on Saturday and he had to be replaced for Daniel Udoh.
Crewe boss Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Ryan has a slight strain with his hamstring, so that could be one enforced change for the Carlisle game.
“He thought it was cramp at the time, but he had a scan yesterday and it has revealed a slight strain. It shouldn’t keep him long.
“We are hopeful that he could be back for the Accrington game.”
