Lowe: "Focus Is On Crewe"

Captain eases fans concerns at fans forum

Crewe Alexandra captain Ryan Lowe told the fans forum last night that his sole focus is to help the club reach the play-offs. The veteran striker has recently been linked with a move back to Bury in a player/coach role but the 38-year-old says he understands Crewe stance on wanting to retain him.

Lowe leads the club’s scoring charts with 8 goals this season and Steve Davis has gone on record to say that he has the board’s full backing to keep the experienced striker with us.

Lowe told the fans forum last night: “As player all you can do is play football. I’ve spoken to the gaffer about it and Crewe want me to stay. They rejected the approach from Bury and Ryan Lowe isn’t one for making a fuss. I don’t do that.

“I understand the club’s position and I am focussed on playing for Crewe. I want to get this club back up to where it deserves to be. I want us to be up there challenging for a play-off place.

“I am approaching the end of my career and I want to have another promotion on CV. I have never played at Wembley and that is an ambition I would like to fulfil before I do retire from playing.”
