Lowe: "Fans Will Play Vital Role"

16 December 2016

Captain wants the travelling Alex fans to be our 12th man at Cambridge.

Veteran striker Ryan Lowe is asking the travelling Alex fans to remain in full support of the team at Cambridge United, as the Railwaymen aim to get back to winning ways following disappointing defeats to Colchester and Crawley.

Lowe, 38, was hugely disappointed with our home defeat to Crawley last weekend and the club captain says the fans will play an important role in helping transform our season.

Ahead of the trip to the Abbey Stadium, Lowe said: “We need the fans to stick with us. If we want to do anything this season, we have to have them stick with us because we've got a young team. There are no easy points in this division and we have to work hard as a whole to get them.

man and get behind us. If they do us they'll get the rewards as well as us.th"The Crewe fans have always been good with me and as captain all I would say is we need them to be our 12

"Obviously, there were a few words said in the dressing room at the end of the Crawly game because it was simply not good enough.

"We know it’s a bit of a fight on our hands. We have to learn. It’s a tough ask, there are plenty of kids in there, but you can’t just keep going about your business and not doing the right things because you’ll never learn.

Ryan added: “We have to put it right, we have Cambridge away and then the games just get thicker and faster and tougher. The minute we start picking up points the better it will be for the morale at the club.”
