Boss targets turnaround over busy period.
Steve Davis says his team have to show some real character to rise out of our current slump. The Railwaymen have lost three games in succession and Davis says that the busy festive period is the perfect time to turn things around.
Ahead of our home Boxing Day clash against Carlisle, Steve said: “When things go against you and you have a dip in form, you have to show some character and work hard to come through it.
“I cannot fault the players’ effort but the quality has dropped. It is not like it was earlier in the season and we have to try and get back to that. That is the challenge and Christmas is the perfect time to do that because there are a lot of games in a short space of time.
“We have got to stick with the players, encourage them and help them come through. You are always going to have dips in form over the course of a football season. It is part of football and you have to keep level headed when you have those dips just as much as you do when you are experiencing the highs.”
