Boss Hints At System Change

21 December 2016

Steve Davis says he may alter his system following injury to Lowe.

The loss of Ryan Lowe through injury could see a change in system for the visit of Carlisle United on Boxing Day. The Alex host the high-flying Cumbrians at the Alexandra Stadium and Steve Davis has hinted that he may change how we line-up with Lowe ruled out with a slight hamstring strain.

The Alex boss has been determined to number his experienced front two of Lowe and Dagnall whenever they have been fit but with the captain missing, that could present another opportunity to youngster Daniel Udoh.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We have had a fairly settled team and formation for most of the season. The system allowed us to have the two up-front but we might change the tactics now that Lowey is out.

“We have to adapt to different systems and although that may take some work that is something we will have to look at. Much depends on the intelligence of the players to adapt to their roles.

“We will look at making little adjustments here and there to see if it can give us the advantage.”
