Bakayogo Rated 50/50 For Crawley Clash

6 December 2016

Zooms touch & go to return on Saturday

Zoumana Bakayogo is rated as touch & go as Crewe Alexandra welcome Crawley Town to Gresty Road on Saturday.

The 30-year-old Frenchman remains a doubt after a spell out with a hamstring problem, with Satuday's game potentially coming too soon for the full-back.

Steve Davis is set to welcome back George Ray & Billy Bingham to the match day squad after their respective absences, but the boss admits he'd love to be able to name Bakayogo too on his team sheet.

The gaffer said: "Billy [Bingham] & George [Ray] will be fine, they could be in the squad.

"The only slight doubt at 50/50 will be Zoumana because he hasn't trained yet & he's been out three-and-a-half weeks, which is quite a long time.

"Even though he's a fit lad he's not quite at top speed. It would be a risk to throw him in at this point, but he's still got four days before we play so we'll see if he improves enough to train back end of the week & make a judgement then.

"Ideally, he'd need another week to recover, but we desperately need him back. He's been solid in there for us & I think we need him back in the team if we can get him back in."
