Steve Davis on hoping to secure on-loan winger until the end of the season.
Steve Davis says he has had ‘nothing but positives’ coming out of his discussions with his on-loan winger Alex Kiwomya. The Alex boss is keen to extend the loan deal for the Chelsea youngster until the end of the season and he says that the vibe coming out of the Kiwomya camp has been nothing but positive.
Crewe hope to secure a deal for the winger, who has scored seven league goals this season, and talks with his parent club are on-going.
An encouraged Davis said: “I have had nothing but positives from Alex, his representative and from Chelsea. I know he has enjoyed his time here with us. He is getting his game time and it has been a great experience for him.
“It is the first time in his career that he is playing every week and that he is experiencing the demands that come with that, both mentally and physically. He has never played so much and he gives us something different. He has terrific pace, can score goals and has created a number of goals for us as well.
“He has had a little dip in form along the way after the start he had, but that is only natural with young players. It is all about him learning from that and I think we have helped him with that.
“I want him to stay and like I say it has all been very positive with all parties involved, but with any transfer or loan, it is never completed until the papers are all signed. We remain positive though and it will be a boost for us to have him until the end of the season.”
