Crewe Alex boss Steve Davis has hinted that he could make significant changes to his starting XI for the Blackburn Rovers EFL Cup trip to keep his group fresh amidst a congested fixture schedule.
His side has remained fairly constant over the opening weeks of the season, but Davis has suggested that he may dip into the pool of his squad to help share the load for the trip to Ewood Park.
He said: "It's a good test. There's certainly no pressure on us to go there not expected to win the game.
"We're buoyant from the games we've played and results we've achieved and we go into it unbeaten which is a good mentality to have.
"We're coming into a period of seven games in 13 days for first team and U23 which is less than one every two days, so we can't keep the same team out with that schedule.
"I've really got to look at the recovery and how the players are each day to make sure they're mentally focussed and feeling strong.
"We're doing well over this period of games, but we need to rest players and utilise the squad as and when is needed."
