Boss Knows Lowe Will Come Back Out Firing

Crewe Alexandra Manager Steve Davis admitted he would've staked his mortgage on Ryan Lowe becoming the hero late on yet again in the 3-3 draw with Hartlepool.

The striker was presented with an 88th minute chance after Billy Bingham's shot was deflected, but he was unable to repeat his heroics of a week earlier at Sheffield United, rolling the shot wide.

Steve said: "In the past we have been subdued in situations where we've been pegged back, but we kept going and finished strongly.

"In the end the ball fell to Lowey right at the death and I would put my mortgage on him sticking that away and he didn't, so I would've lost my house!

"He's done great for us though Lowey and I've got no doubt he'll pick himself up automatically for the next game and he'll be important for us this season."
