James Jones hoping mini-run continues against promotion favourites this weekend.
James Jones says that confidence is beginning to return inside the Crewe Alexandra dressing room and that the players are looking forward to testing themselves against title favourites Portsmouth this weekend. The Alex midfielder has helped Crewe achieve back-to-back away wins at Stevenage and then at Sheffield United in the cup on Tuesday night and now he is targeting a positive result against much-fancied Pompey.
Jones told the club’s official web-site: “There is a great mood in the dressing room. It makes such a difference when you are winning games. The two results don’t over shadow what happened last season but we have to try and move on now.
“We have got to look forward and it is such a good feeling, so it would be nice to keep on winning or picking up points. I think we have looked strong in both games and coped well with the physical side of things.
“These are the games we all look forward to and Portsmouth will be a good test for us. They are one of the biggest clubs in the division, but we feel that we play to our potential then we can beat anyone.
Jonah added: “They are all tough but we have won at Sheffield United and the confidence is high. We want to carry on winning and have that feeling. It would be a real positive if we do.”
