Boss to make changes for EFL Trophy tie.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he will give ‘others’ a chance in tonight’s EFL Trophy Group B northern encounter at Accrington Stanley. The Alex boss is permitted to make six changes to the side that lost 2-0 at Cheltenham at the weekend and he will utilise the ruling to give some of his fringe players some game time.

Ahead of our trip to Accrington, Steve said: “I will use the cup game to give others a chance. I will make as many changes as the rules permit because some of the players looked tired at the weekend and I don’t think they will be able to go again so soon.

“We have had a congested fixture list and there were some tired limbs at the end of the game at Cheltenham.

 “Others will get a chance to play and if they play well and deserve to stay in for the weekend then they will. This is a big chances for them and it’s up to the to take it.”
