Steve says he wants a ready-made midfielder

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he remains undecided on midfielder Jamie Osborne as he needs an experienced midfield player for the now. Osborne was not involved at Kirby Muxloe last night and the Crewe boss admits that he is after a midfielder who can instantly improve his midfield options.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I am still undecided on Jamie. I am not sure because we need someone who has been there and done it. It is about the now and not about December or next summer.

“We have enough of those players now and they occupy our time every day. We want to bring one in who has been there and done it.

He added: “If that right one comes along, and he hasn’t at the moment, then we do something. We will wait until the right one is available but we won’t bring one in who we don’t think will improve us. “
