Boss hails the contribution of on-loan Chelsea starlet.
Steve Davis has praised the contribution of winger Alex Kiwomya following his instant impact this season.
The on-loan Chelsea winger scored his third goal of the campaign to open the scoring at Newport County on Saturday with another genuine contender for goal of the season and the 20-year-old is running his own goal of the season competition following his splendid solo effort at Stevenage on the opening day of the season. Kiwomya was also on target in the 3-3 draw with Hartlepool.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I think Alex is having his own goal of the season competition and there are already a couple of real candidates.
“He has been terrific for us when he has been coming on as an impact sub. I wanted to see if he could have a similar impact when starting a game and he has surprised me because he is getting through a lot of work defensively as well.
“He is adjusting to the intensity of the league again and he won’t be fully there until he has played 7, 8, 9 games. We know he is an asset with his pace and his ability to score goals. He is still getting there physically but we can see that he has that unique ability to glide past players.
He added: “He has his tricks and we will with him to work on others when he comes up against an opponent.”
