U18’s See Out Season In Style
Crewe Alexandra Under 18’s finished the U18 PDL 2 season in style with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Colchester United at Reaseheath.
The result wasn’t enough for Kenny Lunt’s side to make the end of season play-offs after Sheffield United recorded the result they needed to secure the final spot.
The team turned on the style for the final match, smashing in three first half goals to effectively seal the points before rounding off the season with a fourth after the break.
An impressive performance from Luke Walley was rewarded with a goal after ten minutes before a calamitous U’s own goal gifted Crewe a second before Harry Pickering curled in another spectacular free-kick six minutes before the interval.
Cruising to an end of season victory, the result was rounded off half an hour from time with a magnificent touch and finish into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Crewe: Hilton, Morgan (Neal, 45), Woodcock, Quinn, Wilkinson, Finney, Lundstram (Lowery, 60), Dale (Lynch, 80), Pickering, Reilly, Walley
