Turton: "We Have To Keep Going"

1 April 2016

Ollie Turton says players want to give themselves a chance by getting back-to-back wins.

Ollie Turton admits that we have shot ourselves in the foot too many times this season.

Defender Turton, who has captained Crewe Alexandra on occasions this season in the absence of Harry Davis and David Fox says that the Easter campaign was frustrating after we collected no points despite our efforts against Sheffield United and Bradford City.

Turton told the club’s official web-site: “It was disappointing not to have got something from the two games because we played reasonably well but didn’t get any points.

“I thought we played really well in the second half at Sheffield and then in the first half against Bradford but we didn’t get what we deserved. That has happened a few times this season and we have shot ourselves in the foot too many times.

“It was the same at Sheffield, when we battled back from 2-0 down only to concede late on again.

“It has been tough mentally to deal with some of those set-backs but we will keep going. We want to get back to back wins to give ourselves a chance.

“As players we will never give up and we will keep going right up to the end of the season. We have stuck together and the spirit has been really good despite the results we have had.”
