Steve: "We Owe It To The Other Clubs Down There"

27 April 2016

Alex boss Steve Davis says his team will remain professional until the final kick of the season.

Steve Davis has made a promise to the other clubs at the bottom of the League One table that he will continue to name a strong side and be professional until the last kick of the season. Already relegated Crewe host fellow strugglers Doncaster Rovers on Saturday and then take on their relegation rivals Fleetwood on the final day of the season.

Crewe want a win for their own reasons but the Crewe boss has also promised to make sure that everyone continues to be professional here.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Of course we have to look ahead to next season. We have one eye on that but we still have two games left as well and we still have say because the two teams we play are fighting against relegation.

“We still have a say in that, so we owe to the other clubs around to go with a strong team and be professional until the last ball is kicked. It is only right and we needed that last season when we were struggling on the final day.

“We want to win for ourselves as well and make sure we put on a good performance for our final home game.

He added: “There will be no favours coming from us and that is how it should be. When we are done, we will concentrate on what we need to be better both individually and collectively.”
