Davis impressed by Graham Westley's Posh side.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis admits that Peterborough United are arguably the best side we have faced all season in League One, but he stresses that their impressive 5-1 win over us at the Alexandra Stadium back in November won’t count for too much this weekend.

In order to keep our hopes of remaining in League One alive the Alex head to London Road needing to collect three points.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash against Graham Westley’s Posh, Steve told us: “The only thing that matters is the here and now.

“When Peterborough came to us, it is one of the rare times this season that we were not really in the game as a contest. They were clinical on the day and dominated the game.

“It is a different spell, a different time for us now. There are seven games to go and we are determined to go to Peterborough and try to win.

“We have got to have that belief that we can do it. Maybe we have lacked that at times this season but we have played well away at the likes of Millwall and Sheffield United, so there is no reason why we cannot do it again.

“It is important that we try and do what we want to do and try and get that win as quickly as we can.

“Peterborough were impressive when we played them but they have had their blips since. That coincided a bit with them selling Conor Washington to QPR in the window. You can sell your better players but in the end it can affect the team when your better players more on.

“They are still a very good side and have good players and Graham is always looking at ways to get the upper hand tactically, so it always makes it an interesting game.”
