Steve Davis On Fans Forum Feedback

29 April 2016

Steve Davis says feedback from forum vital as he looks to take the club forward.

Steve Davis says that last night’s fans forum at the Alexandra Stadium provided the ideal platform for opinions to be shared after a hugely disappointing season. The Alex boss and the club’s board of directors were keen to hold another meeting with the supporters following our relegation to League Two and Davis admits that he ‘gained a lot from hearing from frustrated supporters’.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “John (Bowler) was keen to have the forum for the supporters and as the manager I wanted to be there and listen to the supporters as well. I am not sure that many managers would be there in that situation but we were all keen to communicate openly with the supporters and find out their feeling.

“There is always a lot of frustration and anger that comes after a disappointing season and relegation. We all get that. I understand that and it is important to hear that frustration and anger from the fans because it shows how much they care about the club. Everyone here is the same.

“It was beneficial to hear their points of view about all aspects of the club and we all gained a lot from it.

He added: “I have made mistakes and I am just grateful for the opportunity about turning it around next season. I know I have to restore lost confidence with a number of supporters and it is up to me, the staff and the players to repair the damage of this season.”
